Porcelain veneers
Thin porcelain shells, roughly 0.3–0.7 mm, bonded to the front surface of the tooth. Usually only minimal reduction of the front surface is needed. Suitable for healthy front teeth with colour, shape or spacing concerns.
Zirconia crowns
Metal-free, strong crowns that cover the whole tooth. Suitable for teeth with large fillings, fractures, root canal treatment or old metal-ceramic crowns, and for crowns on implants.
Which one do I need?
It depends on the condition of each tooth, not on preference alone. Many smiles combine both: veneers on healthy teeth, zirconia on weakened ones. The least invasive option is always considered first.
Process and timing
- Photos, intraoral scan and digital smile plan
- In suitable cases, a temporary trial of the new smile in your mouth
- Tooth preparation and digital impression; temporaries fitted
- Laboratory production, try-in and final bonding
For visitors, this usually fits into a single trip of about 7–10 days, depending on the number of teeth.
Frequently asked questions
Will my teeth be filed down?
Veneers usually need minimal reduction of the front surface; zirconia crowns need the tooth to be reduced all around. We consider the least invasive option first.
Do they look natural?
With the right shade, shape and surface texture, yes. We choose the shade together in daylight.
How long do they last?
With good care and regular check-ups, many years. A night guard is recommended if you grind your teeth.
Should all my teeth be done?
No. Only the teeth that need it. Healthy teeth may only need whitening or veneers.
